Course Description:
This panel will combine an overview of the most promising safety solutions for the labor and delivery unit with practical suggestions for leading effective intraprofessional collaboration to maximize organizational capacity for improvements in quality and safety.
Conference Objectives are :
• Define best practices for obstetric team communication and performance, including checklists and crisis resource management;
• Envision a strategy to embed a culture of safety on the labor and delivery unit;
• Identify solutions to ensure timely availability of emergency medications on the L&D unit given current regulatory requirements and drug shortages;
• Access resources, such as the Maternal Patient Safety Bundles, that deliver safety solutions targeting the most common causes of preventable maternal and perinatal harm.
