Patient Safety Highlights - Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) : Complexity, Safety, Efficiency and Leadership is organized by American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and will be held during Feb 27, 2017 - Feb 26, 2020.
The target audience for this medical event is Anesthesiologists, Ophthalmologists, Plastic Surgeons, Thoracic Surgeons, Urologists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
The last few years have witnessed an exponential growth in providing the so called Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) services. This has been due to advances in technologies and minimally invasive procedures being performed in those highly specialized areas. That increase in service was associated with increased complexity of the cases and procedures performed in patients who are deemed otherwise not surgical candidates. This refresher course will address safety of care in these areas, examples of sources of complexity and challenging cases recommending solutions and management plans. As well as discussing framework for efficient organization of anesthesia services and leadership in these locations.
Conference Objectives are :
• Outline safety issues related to sedation and anesthesia in NORA;
• Discuss interventions to improve NORA outcomes;
• Enlist sources of complexity in NORA and propose solutions;
• Justify a frame work for a successful efficient NORA service.
