This refresher course lecture will provide an overview of use errors and equipment failures associated with operation of the anesthesia workstation.
Conference Objectives are:
• Review critical incidents and adverse outcomes associated with the use of anesthesia workstations
• Describe strategies designed to prevent workstation problems
• Recognize the advantages and limitations of automated pre-use checkouts
• Differentiate fresh gas decoupling circuits from the traditional circle breathing system.
