Patient Safety Highlights - A Night on Call on Labor and Delivery: Take Home Points is organized by American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and will be held during Feb 27, 2017 - Feb 26, 2020.

The target audience for this medical event is Anesthesiologists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Description:
This panel will provide descriptions and discussion of common clinical challenges faced by anesthesiologists when they cover labor and delivery overnight. The speakers will try to provide clinical pearls for situations such as dealing with patients who present with little to no prenatal care, treating severe hemorrhage without knowledgeable assistance, keeping abreast of the patient volume and acuity during a busy night and safely performing general anesthesia in pregnant patients. The attendee should expect an interactive session with different perspectives from each speaker.

Conference Objectives are :
• Identify common clinical scenarios that arise overnight on labor and delivery;
• Describe strategies to adequately cover the demands of a obstetric anesthesia unit with decreased manpower and resources overnight;
• List ways to quickly evaluate parturients with little prenatal care;
• Explain non-clinical challenges such as communication that anesthesiologists frequently encounter at night on labor and delivery.
