Objectives:
Upon completion of this educational activity participants should be able to:
• To identify narcolepsy as a disorder of behavioral state instability
• To recognize the central role of hypocretin deficiency in the pathophysiology of narcolepsy
• To summarize the evidence supporting an autoimmune mechanism for narcolepsy pathogenesis
• To express that there is still no proof of an autoimmune mechanism for narcolepsy pathogenesis
