The pain management and opioid drug crisis presents challenges to many health care professionals. This module will deliver valuable information on the role acupuncture can play in reducing pain.

As a result of this activity, learners should be better able to:
• Discuss the theories on how acupuncture can reduce pain.
• Review research studies supporting the use of acupuncture for pain conditions.
• Discuss safety considerations when treating patients with acupuncture and the importance of finding a qualified acupuncturist.
