Oral Hypersensitivity Reactions - Dental providers encounter patients with oral hypersensitivity reactions in clinical practice. Due to the wide spectrum of clinical presentations and severity of these disorders, diagnosis and management of oral hypersensitivity reactions are often challenging. This course will provide information regarding the pathophysiology, clinical and histologic presentations and strategies for evaluation and management of oral hypersensitivity reactions, including contact allergic stomatitis, oral lichenoid reactions, erythema multiforme, Steven Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis.

Upon completion of the online training, the participant should be able to:
• Appreciate basic pathophysiologic mechanisms of oral hypersensitivity reactions.
• Understand the role of patch testing in oral hypersensitivity reactions.
• Recognize various clinical and histologic presentations of oral hypersensitivity reactions.
• Employ strategies for evaluation and management of oral hypersensitivity reactions.
