OVERVIEW

Optimizing Care in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) : A Case-Based Review to Improve Inhaler Selection and Use is organized by Pri-Med and will be held during Jul 12, 2017 - Sep 14, 2018. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Overview :

In this case-based discussion, experts in COPD will address the importance of spirometry in diagnosis and assessment of COPD and discuss guideline-concordant care and treatment. The differences between inhalers and selecting the right inhaler for the right patient will be covered as part of a discussion on individualizing therapy based on patient- and disease-specific characteristics. Proper inhaler technique will be described and demonstrated as the faculty present patient cases.

Learning Objectives :

• Employ best practices including spirometry data for diagnosis and assessment of COPD
• Apply guideline recommendations to individualize pharmacologic therapy for COPD patients based on patient- and disease-specific characteristics
• Assess the differences between inhaler devices and select the right device for the right patient
• Incorporate proper inhaler technique in the management and follow-up of COPD patients on inhaled therapies
