The statistics report that 85% of misused narcotics are physician prescriptions. The prescription opioid addiction epidemic in the U.S. is, in part, an iatrogenic problem based on multiple provider misconceptions, such as “Opioids are the best drugs for pain” and “There’s an infinite dose-response curve.” In this webinar, Dr. Michael McNett provides evidence about the inappropriateness of chronic opioid therapy and describes how to optimize the use of opioids for acute pain.
