Course Overview:
This course explores the comorbidity of pediatric obesity, identifies strategies to encourage appropriate nutrition and healthy life choices and promotes positive relationships among members of the healthcare team including patients and families.  The case-driven format allows for high learner engagement more likely to result in sustained change. Wrapping the module within the context of a social learning community simulates network that occurs in the live setting improving the learning impact across the interprofessional team. Learning resources including articles and handouts will be available to learners to reinforce learning and change.

Learning Objectives:
• Describe metabolic syndrome and comorbid conditions that may emerge as a result of pediatric   obesity
• Identify multiple strategies that promote appropriate nutrition recommendations and encourage   healthy life choices
• Demonstrate professional behaviors that foster positive relationships among team members and with patients and families.
