This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of retina specialists and comprehensive ophthalmologists. It may also benefit other clinicians who are involved in the care of patients with neovascular retinal diseases.

Overview:
The promise of sustained delivery of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor became a reality in October 2021 with the approval of the port delivery system for ranibizumab. This and other sustained delivery approaches that are under investigation (eg, RGX-314 gene therapy) provide potential alternatives to the demanding schedule of intravitreal anti-VEGF injections that has historically been required to treat neovascular retinal diseases. However, innovative delivery methods require proficiency with surgical techniques that have never been used in retinal practice. Join us for an expert-led, video-based activity that clearly demonstrates the surgical techniques necessary to ensure procedural consistency, mitigate risk, and optimize outcomes when implementing novel sustained delivery strategies.
