Course Information:
This comprehensive course provides participants with a solid introduction to hypnosis and trance inductions. Students will study from textbooks, as well as learning from audio recorded lectures and sessions of inductions and hypnosis techniques. Students will study comprehensive issues regarding trance inductions, workings of the subconscious mind, the art and science of hypnosis, and the uses and therapeutic effects of hypnosis and hypnotherapies.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
• Describe "hypnosis and hypnotherapy" and briefly discuss their history and progression.
• Explain "trance" and its application to hypnosis/hypnotherapies.
• Discuss the process of doing trance inductions.
• Discuss the process of using scripts for programming the subconscious mind.
• Identify issues that may interfere with trance inductions and how to deal with them effectively.
• Discuss the major levels of brain waves and their implications in hypnosis.
• Identify, discuss and apply the processes for pre-induction talks with clients.
• Utilize various methods for testing subjects suggestibility prior to trance induction.
• Discuss the levels of "mind" and their functions.
• Discuss how to incorporate spiritual methods into hypnosis sessions.
• Discuss and apply several effective "deepening techniques" for trance induction.
• Apply the use of affirmations and emotions in hypnotherapy practice.
• Discuss common issues and methods of trance induction for children.
• Discuss effective strategies for hypnosis/hypnotherapy related to smoking cessation.
• Discuss effective strategies for hypnosis/hypnotherapy related to weight loss.
• Explain "fractionalization" and how you would use it in hypnosis.
• Identify and discuss the "direct drive technique" and how to use it.
• Discuss issues of client confidentiality and ethics related to hypnotherapy.
• Apply a solid methodology for conducting a pre-hypnosis client interview.
• Identify issues that may occur while the client is in trance and define how to deal effectively with them.
• Discuss the "esdaile state."
• Discuss the use of the "ideomotor response" in hypnotherapy.
• Explain the phenomena of "revivification.
• Demonstate how to use age regression techniques in hypnotherapy.
• Discuss "initial sensitizing events" and how to uncover them during hypnotherapy.
• Apply the "Forgiveness of Self" as a therapeutic hypnotherapy intervention.
• Discuss "parts mediation therapy.
• Discuss the state of "somnambulism" and it's induction and uses.
• Discuss a solid process for the use in self-hypnosis, and how to teach clients self-hypnosis.
