This activity is designed for healthcare professionals with an emphasis on sepsis awareness, early detection, and infection management in cancer patients. The overarching goal of the activity is to provide healthcare professionals with practical knowledge to aid them in the recognition of infection and sepsis, and the management of infection.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify patients at risk of developing sepsis.
- Recognize early signs and symptoms of sepsis.
- Identify care measures to prevent sepsis.
- Identify measures to prevent and manage infection.
- Recognize the three most common Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI).
- Identify stages of the sepsis continuum.
