Michigan Statewide EMS Protocols - Advanced Life Support is organized by Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMED).

Description:
This online course is intended for Michigan paramedics and EMS medical directors and other healthcare professionals involved in EMS in Michigan including other physicians, nurses, and physician assistants. It is intended to address the new 2023 State EMS Protocols including a review of newly updated current protocols and completely new protocols.

Objectives:
Describe the general clinical care that should be provided by Michigan EMS clinicians in caring for common adult and pediatric medical emergencies.
• Identify medications permitted to be administered by medications including indications, contraindications, and need for medical control orders.
• Identify procedures permitted to be performed incuding indications, contraindications, and general steps needed to safely perform the procedure.
