Medical Technology Management Institute (MTMI) MRI Safety Guidelines is organized by Medical Technology Management Institute (MTMI) and would be held on Nov 11, 2017.
The target audience for this medical event for MRI Technologists, Radiologic Technologists, Medical Imaging Specialists and Educators. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 8 Credits.
MRI technology and its clinical applications have expanded rapidly in recent years. As a result, the need for competent MRI technologists has increased accordingly. The safety of patients, family and staff in MRI is a primary concern. Hence, it is critical that the MRI technologist is well trained in MRI safety. This seminar offers comprehensive coverage of MRI safety and covers the ACR and Joint Commission standards.
Educational Objectives :
At the completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
• Identify and differentiate the three categories of MRI safety concerns for patients, family and staff.
• Identify and differentiate the four “zones” of an MRI department or suite, as recommended by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
• Understand and implement proper MRI safety policy and screening procedures as recommended by the ACR and the Joint Commission.
• Define “SAR”, understand what factors influence SAR, and know how to minimize SAR in clinical scanning.
• Know recommended doses for GBCA’s, and the risk factors of injecting GBCA’s.
• Understand NSF and the recommendations to prevent it.
