This activity fulfills 45 minutes of the one hour Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) training standards for medical ethics requirement. The objectives include: review WHO/CDC definations related to maternal mortality; defind health disparities and health equity; illustrate the current problem of disproportionate maternal morbidity and mortality; and identify underpinnings of these health disparities and potential solutions.
