OVERVIEW

Mastering T2 Inflammation: Empowering Patients and Primary Care Providers is organized by Healio, Vindico Medical Education.

This enduring material is approved for 1 year from the date of original release, October 31, 2025, to October 30, 2026.

Description:
Type 2 (T2) inflammation-associated diseases affect millions of patients across overlapping allergic, atopic, and respiratory conditions such as atopic dermatitis, asthma, eosinophilic esophagitis, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). These conditions often coexist, amplifying disease severity, symptom burden, and impact on quality of life. This CE activity is designed to help primary care clinicians recognize the shared mechanisms driving T2 inflammation and optimize timely referrals and interdisciplinary management. Through expert presentations and insights from patients and clinicians, participants will explore best practices for recognition, referral, and co-management with specialists. Faculty will explore evidence-based strategies for integrating targeted therapies to improve outcomes across the T2 inflammatory disease spectrum.

Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Initiate specialist referral for patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis based on quality-of-life impact and persistent symptoms.
  • Collaborate with pulmonologists to co-manage patients with moderate-to-severe asthma who remain symptomatic despite initial treatment.
  • Refer patients with suspected eosinophilic esophagitis when chronic GI symptoms affect nutrition or quality of life.
  • Engage ear, nose, and throat (ENT) or allergy specialists for patients with CRSwNP experiencing persistent nasal symptoms or poor response to intranasal steroids.
  • Screen for T2-driven features in patients with COPD and initiate interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Evaluate the rationale for targeting T2 inflammatory pathways to improve care across chronic allergic and eosinophilic diseases.
