OVERVIEW

Point-of-Care Musculoskeletal Ultrasound for Hemophilic Joints: How to Visualize Joint Anatomy and Detect Pathology Using the J.A.D.E Protocol is organized by University of California San Diego School of Medicine (UCSD SOM) and will be held from Sep 07, 2017 - Sep 06, 2019.

The target audience for this medical event is physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physical therapists involved and/or interested in MSKUS as point-of care imaging tool to assist with diagnosis and treatment of joint pains in people with hemophilia. Other healthcare professionals involved in hemophilia clinical care may benefit from this education program as well. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

This activity is a 100-minute presentation covering the basic bony anatomy of the ankle, elbow, and knee. Musculoskeletal disease is common in hemophilia. Hemophilic arthropathy is a frequent and debilitating comorbidity. The clinical exam to diagnose and treat hemarthrosis, joint problems and musculoskeletal abnormalities is unreliable. There is an urgent medical need to teach MSKUS techniques to hemophilia providers for wide-spread use for diagnosis and management of hemophilic arthropathy. Foundational knowledge of the anatomy of the ankle, elbow, and knee is essential in learning the skills needed to utilize these techniques in practice.

Conference Objectives are :
• Altering the financial relationship with the commercial interest.
