This session will cover the management of hypertension in the primary care setting, including special populations such as older adults, individuals living with type 2 diabetes, congestive heart failure, and chronic kidney disease.
Learning Objectives:
After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
- Define hypertension as per expert guidelines
- Recall pharmacologic strategies for managing hypertension in the general population
- Differentiate between the treatment of hypertension in the general population as compared to special populations such as the elderly and individuals with CKD, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and others

NPACE designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.50 contact hours, of which 1.50 is pharmacology credit. Participants should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
