What is the significance of Malnutrition: How does it impact the children I care for CME webcast?

Course Description:
This CME webcast will examine the prevailing prevalence of pediatric malnutrition in Canadian hospitals, its consequences, and the instructions for best practice in prevention, detection and treatment using a case-based teaching model. A recently drafted algorithm called pINPAC (pediatric Integrated Nutrition Pathway for Acute Care) will be presented.

Key Learning Outcomes:
• Learn the prevailing state of pediatric malnutrition practice in Canadian Children’s Hospitals and how this differs from best practice.
• Analyze and apply a newly developed Canadian algorithm (pINPAC) for prevention, discovery, and treatment of pediatric malnutrition that will be applicable to the general pediatric population.
• Analyze the planned next steps for pediatric malnutrition along with the development of a Health Standard.

This program was co-developed with Abbott and the Canadian Malnutrition Task Force and was planned to achieve scientific integrity, objectivity and balance.
