IR Basics: General Interventional Oncology - Part 2 is organized by Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and will be held from Jan 03, 2018 - Dec 01, 2020. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 2.00 SA-CME credits.

Course Description :
This course is designed to improve operator competence in performing portal vein embolizations and select patients who will be the best candidates for these procedures and to see complications that can be encountered during a case and quickly identify steps, tools, and techniques to correct these complications.

The target audience for this medical event is interventional radiologist, interventional oncologist, nurses, techs and other physicians at all levels with special interest in interventional oncology.

Course Objectives :
Upon completion of this on-demand activity, participants should be able to:
• Describe clinical indications for performing portal vein embolizations, common and uncommon complications encountered during IO procedures and techniques to reduce risk of complications.
• Recognize clinical situations which raise risks for complications and identify strategies to mitigate impact on the patient.
• Distinguish between expected and unexpected complications during IO procedures.
