Integrative Craniosacral Therapy: Principles and Hands-On Techniques:
A nursing-focused course that introduces craniosacral therapy principles, hands-on technique awareness, therapeutic presence, safety, consent, patient-centred communication, referral, and coordinated care.

Course Description:
This course introduces nurses to core principles and practical concepts used in integrative craniosacral therapy. Learners explore how gentle touch, anatomical awareness, therapeutic presence, tissue listening, pacing, consent, and patient response can shape a safer and more patient-centred approach to care.

The course does not automatically authorise nurses to practise CranioSacral Therapy, craniosacral therapy, manual therapy, or specialist bodywork techniques outside their professional scope. Instead, it supports nursing clinical literacy: understanding the language and rationale behind CST-informed care, recognising safety and referral boundaries, communicating appropriately with patients and practitioners, documenting clearly, and applying relevant principles through comfort, consent, observation, and coordinated care.

What You Will Learn:

• Core CST Principles:
  Understand introductory craniosacral concepts including gentle contact, tissue listening, anatomical relationships, patient response, and non-forcing care.
• Hands-On Technique Awareness:
  Develop literacy around selected hands-on approaches while recognising the training, authorisation, consent, supervision, and scope required for clinical application.
• Safety and Communication:
  Apply consent, privacy, trauma-informed communication, patient-led pacing, comfort monitoring, red-flag awareness, and professional boundaries.
• Clinical Integration:
  Use CST-informed reasoning to improve patient comfort, referral quality, documentation, interdisciplinary communication, and coordinated care.

Course Pathway:
The learning pathway moves from craniosacral principles and technique awareness into safety, scope, patient response, referral decisions, and clinical integration.

• Understand: Review craniosacral principles, anatomical language, gentle contact, and patient-centred care.
• Observe: Notice patient comfort, consent, tissue response, nervous-system state, and clinical context.
• Confirm Scope: Clarify what is permitted by role, region, policy, training, and competence.
• Support or Refer: Use education, comfort support, referral, specialist CST care, or escalation as appropriate.
• Document: Record observations, consent, patient response, safety concerns, referrals, and follow-up needs.
