OVERVIEW
Infection Control Course is organized by American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and will be held during Mar 24, 2017 - Mar 23, 2020.
The target audience for this medical event is Anesthesiologists, Ophthalmologists, Thoracic Surgeons, Urologists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description:
This "NEW" Infection Control course includes information on how anesthesiologists and the entire care team can impact perioperative patient outcomes in the prevention of infections.
The course now includes topics on:
• Hand hygiene
• Summarizes why hand washing is important
• How to hand wash effectively
• Guidelines
• Barriers to handwashing
• Drawing up medications and the safe use of multi-dose vials
• Safe use of IV tubing
• Induction and contamination of the work surface/second gloves
• Timing of antibiotics
• Use of Foley catheter CAUTI
• Placement of a lines/CVP
Conference Objectives are:
• Recognize the benefit of scientifically accepted infection prevention and control practices.
• Identify basic clinical work practices used to improve infection control.
• Recognize the importance of effective and appropriate cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of anesthesia equipment.
