Summary:
Asthma is a heterogenous disorder usually characterized by chronic airway inflammation, and defined by respiratory symptoms such as wheeze, shortness of breath, chest tightness and cough that vary over time and in intensity, together with variable expiratory airflow limitation. The disorder affects 18.7 million adults and 7 million children in the United States.

This activity will examine newer concepts in the pathophysiology of asthma and type 2 inflammation, tools for clinical assessment, individualized treatment strategies for patients with moderate-to-severe asthma, and the impact of comorbid conditions to improve asthma control.
