Description:
In this course, Dr. Joshua Goldenberg provides an in-depth overview of SIBO diagnosis from a research perspective.   After providing an overview of SIBO basics and epidemiology Dr. Goldenberg will lead a detailed discussion on SIBO testing and diagnosis. The discussion will include an overview of a positive diagnosis, a review of studies that assess biomarkers, an evaluation of diagnostic tests, and evaluating chances of recurrence.

• Explain the limitations of using breath tests for the diagnosis of SIBO compared to other alternatives.
• Describe the specific issues with glucose-based breath tests for SIBO diagnosis.
• Describe the specific issues with lactulose-based breath tests for SIBO diagnosis.
