Sir Bruce Keogh's ongoing "Urgent and Emergency Care" review and the new care models outlined in the "NHS Five Year Forward View", highlight the need for improvements to the urgent and emergency care system to ensure patients get safe and effective care whenever they need it.

In order to reduce the growing demands on A&E and provide a safer service for patients, NHS organisations need to re-design their services and successfully manage their workforce to provide consistently excellent, 24/7 emergency care.

Those attending this Improving Urgent and Emergency Care course led by Professor David Colin-Thome, chair of the Urgent Care Commission, will develop strategies to transform their services.
