Program description:
This is the second session of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Learning Series – an educational series consisting of three MOC Section 1 accredited live sessions and three MOC Section 3 accredited programs focusing on HCM.

• Discuss stratification approach to identify the risk of sudden death in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• Understand how diagnostic tools contribute to the prediction of the risk of sudden death in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• Review current evidence to refine the decision-making process regarding device intervention in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy .

• Discuss a risk stratification approach for sudden cardiac death in a patient with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator)

U/S Waves Speak Volumes: Risk Stratification for HCM From an Echocardiography Viewpoint (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator)

• Recognize echocardiographic features of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy that are associated with an increased risk of sudden cardiac death
• Identify the strengths of echocardiography and situations when additional advanced imaging is needed

Protons for Prognosis: Risk Stratification for HCM From an MRI Viewpoint (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator, Scholar)

• Understand and apply cardiac magnetic resonance imaging as a prognostication tool for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
• Understand especially the fundamentals of late gadolinium enhancement imaging and its role for risk prediction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Beyond the Pictures: Who, What, When and How? (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator, Leader)

• Develop comprehensive approach to decision making regarding primary prevention ICDs in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
• Discuss options and evidence for device intervention.
