Description:
In this program we will define health equity and describe how social determinants of health and health disparity contribute to issues with health equity. We will highlight the AAAAI Work Group Report on Health Disparities in Allergic and Immunologic Conditions as well as the 2020 Asthma Disparities in America Report from the AAFA.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Define health care disparities and social and structural determinants of health and recognize how these relate to achieving health equity in the field of Allergy and Immunology
- List three health care disparities in asthma and select 3 interventions to work to achieve health equity
- List three health care disparities in food allergy and identify three interventions to work to achieve health equity
