Guided Implant Surgery and Treatment Planning is organized by Dentsply Sirona.
Start Date: 11/21/2017
End Date: 11/21/2026
Description:
This presentation will provide a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to computer-guided implant planning and guided implant surgery with a focus on prosthetically-driven digital workflows. Through 3D visualization of the patient’s anatomy, computer-guided treatment planning software can be used to help prevent mistakes and unpleasant surprises during implant surgery. By utilizing data processed from a CT scan, you are able to measure and locate vital structures such as the mandibular nerve, sinus cavities and nasal floor. Certain software programs also contain 3D images of implants, abutments and teeth, which allows for efficient, accurate and reliable planning of number of implants needed, implant position and size, and abutment selection. When the case is planned, a surgical guide is ordered to ensure the planned result is replicated in the real surgical situation. These planning concepts, with their accompanying applications, will be discussed to help facilitate daily implementation to allow for idealized implant esthetics and clinical outcomes.
