Description:
Laboratory leaders apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in their everyday decision-making. In this course, you will explore the role of critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in health laboratories. You will define these terms, apply them effectively to situations in the laboratory, and examine ways to develop these skills as a laboratory leaders. This course includes three online modules. The first module focuses on critical thinking in the laboratory. The second module focuses on problem-solving in the laboratory. The third module focuses on decision-making in the laboratory.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the program, the participant will be able to:
• Examine the role of critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in laboratories.
• Identify strategies for developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Apply improved critical thinking skills for improved problem-solving and decision-making.

Continuing Education:
The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® Program and CPH-recertification. P.A.C.E.® is accepted by all licensure states except Florida. This activity will provide 1.0 contact hour(s) for participants who successfully complete this training until October 31, 2025. After this date, you can no longer obtain P.A.C.E.® for this learning activity.
