Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
• Evaluate aspirin and clopidogrel efficacy and safety and describe their roles in the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS)
• Interpret clinical data with prasugrel and ticagrelor in acute coronary syndrome patients and summarize new guideline recommendations
• Summarize current guideline-recommended use of oral antiplatelet therapy after ACS hospital discharge and interpret clinical data from studies investigating the long-term use of dual antiplatelet therapy after ACS and PCI
• Describe best practices for reducing risk in patients who have experienced an acute coronary syndrome
