The United States population is aging at a rapid pace. By 2030, all Baby Boomers will be older than age 65, and by 2030 the number of people 65 or older will increase to 70 million. What this tells us is that there will be a steadily increasing need for rehabilitation nursing care for older adults as the 21st century progresses. This program will increase your rehab nursing knowledge specific to older adults including theories of aging, the pertinent physiological aspects of aging, and interventions and goals applicable to geriatric rehabilitation.
Learning Objectives:

• Discuss physiological aspects of aging that may contribute to functional limitations
• Identify special considerations for older adults in rehabilitation settings
• Identify goals of geriatric rehabilitation
