Food Allergy in Infants

Food Allergy in Infants is organized by American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and will be held from Sep 22, 2016 - Sep 21, 2019. This CME conference has been approved for 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.

This course will discuss the wide range of food allergy in infants, incorporating new data about early peanut introduction as well as the increasingly recognized condition known as food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES). This course will be presented by using cases, followed by supplemental learning material.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
• Describe the various presentations of food allergy in infants, including IgE-mediated food allergy, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease, and food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome
• Identify the most common food allergens in infants
• Outline the approach to diagnosis and treatment of various types of food allergy
• Describe the latest research on the prevention of food allergy through dietary interventions, particularly the introduction of peanut products.
• Discuss the treatment of anaphylaxis in infants and identify the proper dose of epinephrine for infants.
