Learn to differentiate between the common cold, acute bacterial rhinosinusitis (ABRS), and allergic rhinitis (AR). Dr. Fitzgerald provides evidence-based guidelines for diagnosing and managing allergic rhinitis. Dr. Fitzgerald presents:
• Risk factors for allergic disorders, pattern of symptoms, allergic comorbidities, and physical exam help differentiate between AR, common cold, and ABRS.
• A combination approach to management of allergic rhinitis.
• The role and safety profile of intranasal corticosteroids, leukotriene modifiers, and antihistamines.
• When to consider allergy testing and the benefits of allergen immunotherapy.
