Many clinicians do not routinely apply varnish for adult patients. The need for fluoride is not age-based; all ages can benefit. One size does not fit everyone. The American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Scientific Affairs created an evidence-based clinical practice guideline based on a systematic review of current science. The ADA’s Caries Risk Assessment forms are practice tools to help evaluate a patient’s risk of developing caries and guide the practitioner. These work in conjunction with CDT Caries Risk Assessment procedure codes. This CE webinar assists participants to provide the most efficacious treatments based on individual needs.

Learning Objectives:

• Define the ADA Guidelines for the frequency and age recommendations for fluoride varnish.
• Explain the method of action by which fluoride varnish counteracts caries — and the evidence that supports its use.
