Five-Star Quality Measures (QMs) On-Demand Workshop is organized by American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN). This course has been approved for a maximum number of 2.75 CE hours.
Multidisciplinary Management of Five-Star Quality Measures
Managing Five-Star ratings and Quality Measures (QMs) requires effort from the entire team. This three-part Multidisciplinary Management of Five-Star QMs on-demand workshop starts with the basics of how QMs are calculated and the fundamentals of the Five-Star Quality Rating System. This workshop builds on this knowledge and demonstrates how to use Certification and Survey Provider Enhanced Reports (CASPER) and Five-Star Preview Reports, with the source manuals, to recognize areas for quality improvement. Case studies are used to work through identifying which residents have triggered a measure and how to audit assessments for accuracy. The workshop then ties it all together by walking the team through how to begin quality improvement efforts by identifying the root cause(s) of a problem and implementing a change to the underlying process or system that had resulted in a decline in quality outcomes.
Learning Objectives
The workshop includes three parts to be completed in the following order:
Part 1: Introduction to Quality Measures and the Five-Star Quality Rating System
Part 2: How to Utilize CASPER Reports and Auditing for Accuracy
Part 3: Initial Root Cause Analysis of Quality Measures for the Quality Improvement Process
