Welcome to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders: Current Concepts and Approaches for Pediatricians! This course is designed to raise awareness and increase proper diagnoses of FASD. Content includes general information about FASD, the diagnosis, assessment, and referral process, and effective communication methods with the family.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:
• Define FASD and its component conditions, and explain its relevance to pediatric practice
• Describe the neurobehavioral and physical characteristics of FASD
• Explain FASD diagnostic criteria and the process of making a diagnosis
• Develop a process for screening every child for FASD
• Discuss the role that stigma plays in screening and treating patients with FASD
