Description:
Cryptogenic stroke is frequently encountered in the hospital, and exhaustive, costly workups are required only by a minority of patients. This course will explain the algorithm of care after a standard workup determines that cryptogenic stroke should be considered.

Objectives:
• Explain the criteria for diagnosing a cryptogenic stroke and implement the appropriate diagnostic algorithm after a standard workup determines that a stroke should be considered cryptogenic.
• Recognize five less common stroke etiologies.
