Course Description:
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive disease with a poor prognosis and, until the last several years, treatment options were extremely limited. Nintedanib and pirfenidone have provided an option to prevent disease progression. As these agents are increasingly being used, new data have emerged regarding their long-term efficacy and safety. This supplement will provide an overview of the most current guidelines for the diagnosis and management of IPF including the recent clinical data for the FDA-approved therapies. An investigation of the recent clinical data will allow pharmacy benefit managers to make cost-effective formulary management decisions and equip specialty pharmacists to better care for their patients as well as improve outcomes for those with this devastating disease.

Educational Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
• Examine the presentation of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) including updated clinical guidelines
• Analyze recent clinical data to facilitate appropriate use of FDA-approved therapies for IPF
• Identify cost-effective models for the management of IPF to improve outcomes for patients

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
