Educating Patients on Appropriate Inhaler Use is organized by University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) and will be held from Jul 31, 2017 - Jul 31, 2019.
The target audience for this medical event is designed to address the educational needs of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.00 Contact Hours.
Course Description:
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about and use demonstration devices of newer asthma and COPD inhaler devices in ‘skills lab-type’ atmosphere. Educational techniques to teach patients how to correctly use this newer inhaler will be reviewed. Participants will be able to compare and contrast the newer inhalers with existing inhaler technologies. How these newer inhalers are being used in the current treatment of asthma and COPD will also be discussed.
Course Objectives are:
• Demonstrate the use of newer inhaler medications for asthma and COPD
• Compare and contrast newer asthma and COPD inhaler devices with existing technologies
• Discuss the use of newer asthma and COPD inhalers in current therapy
• Develop the educational technique to speak with patients about newer asthma and COPD inhaler devices
