Do We Need New Diagnostic Criteria For Gestational Diabetes is organized by Baptist Health South Florida and would be held during Apr 01, 2016 - Apr 01, 2018.

Inconsistent schools of thought and a wide variety of guidelines create challenges for physicians to keep up with best- practice care for individualizing therapy for their patients especially when managing and treating gestational diabetes. This course will examine, summarize and explain new testing criteria as well as arguments for and against them. It will also help physicians select and implement the best treatment for gestational diabetes both during and after pregnancy.
Learning Objectives:
• Examine the relevant background supporting the need for new gestational diabetes mellitus diagnostic criteria.
• Summarize the new International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Group’s (IADPSG) recommendations.
• Explain the arguments for and against the IADPSG recommendations.
