Goal:
To inform and educate pharmacists about von Willebrand disease, including the appropriate diagnosis and management of the disease.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
• Describe the etiology of inherited and acquired von Willebrand disease (VWD)
• Explain the epidemiology of VWD, including the prevalence, distribution, and disease types
• List the various clinical and laboratory approaches to confirming a diagnosis of VWD
• Select an appropriate therapeutic approach for a patient with VWD
• Describe the appropriate indications, dosage, and safety concerns associated with recombinant von Willebrand factor
