Description:
HIV care has gradually shifted from a sole focus on antiretroviral therapy (ART) to adopting person-centric care approaches that consider the holistic needs of people with HIV. This shift recognizes that effective patient care goes beyond viral suppression and addresses mental health, social support, and the unique circumstances of each person with HIV. This microlearning, self-guided activity provides learners with an overview of the principles of person-centric care approaches for the management of people with HIV, as well as recent clinical trial evidence and guideline recommendations for delivering person-centric care to key populations of people with HIV. Learners will also hear about counseling strategies for people with HIV and methods for care coordination to address barriers.

Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Explain the principles of person-centric care approaches for the management of people with HIV
Apply recent clinical trial evidence and guideline recommendations in the context of delivering person-centric care for key populations of people with HIV
Demonstrate counseling strategies for people with HIV and methods of interprofessional care coordination to address barriers that complicate the delivery of person-centric care
