Description:
Rashes occuring after transplant occur with some frequency.  The major concern is GVHD in these instances.  Hence, many times this is incorrectly diagnosed without adequate attention given to other possible causes.  In addition, the clinical morphology and the histopathology of GVHD had significant overlap with other dermatologic entities that can occur in the post-transplant period which requiring different therapy.  Ideal practice would be for our clinical teams to be able to appropriately create a differential diagnosis and pursue appropriate workup, noting the limitations of certain testing such as pathologic evaluation.

Learning Objectives:
• Identify the differential diagnosis of maculopapular/morbilliform rashes in the post-transplant period.
• Identify the cause of rashes in stem cell transplant recipients. 
• Examine the advantages and limitations of a skin biopsy in the immediate post-transplant period.
