Target Audience:
This activity is geared to meet the educational requirements of Intensive Care Residents, Intensivists, Internal Medicine Residents, Internists, Hospitalists, Intensive Care Residents, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners.

Description:
Treating COVID-19 patients must begin with a solid understanding of how the virus works. In this mini-course, you'll learn to identify the most common symptoms and complications associated with COVID-19, a general timeline of disease progression, and the most common comorbidities that increase the risk of severe disease or death.

After completing this course, you will be able to
• Recognize the most common symptoms of COVID-19.
• Identify risk factors for severe disease or mortality from COVID-19.
• Appreciate the basic microbiological features of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and how they relate to infection and possible future therapeutics.
• Track the progression of COVID-19 over time in patients with mild, moderate, and severe illness.
• Recognize potential non-respiratory complications associated with COVID-19 infection.
