Description:
Hemophilia - a disorder in which blood doesn't clot normally, poses a Spectacular challenge for managed care organizations and payers experts: a condition with a low incidence but high expenditures due to a high demand for health care resources. Hemophilia treatment frequently requires highly specialized, coordinated multidisciplinary care from clinicians, patients, and payers. To adequately address the clinical and administrative impediments to unsurpassed hemophilia management, managed care and specialty pharmacy professionals first require knowledge and competence related to the clinical management of hemophilia, in several main areas including etiology, epidemiology, disease severity, morbidity/clinical manifestations, treatment modalities, and Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) and the Integrated Care Model.

Objectives:
• Analyze recent research on newly approved and emerging hemophilia treatment options, including their safety, efficacy, and unique properties.
• Examine the compatibility of newly approved therapies in the current hemophilia treatment algorithm.
• Explain the hemophilia-related complications involved with the development of inhibitors, as well as the clinical and economic implications.
• Implement mechanisms for managed care and specialized pharmacy experts to improve communication and collaboration with HTCs.
