Coping with Cancer is organized by Triage Cancer and will be held on Jun 16, 2020.

Accreditation:
Nurses: Triage Cancer is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Nurses who meet the requirements will be awarded 1 contact hour.

Social Workers: Triage Cancer, #1689, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Triage Cancer maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 08/26/2019 to 08/26/2020. Social workers completing this course receive 1 continuing education credit.

Course Description:
A cancer diagnosis can be highly stressful and disruptive to an individual and their life. This webinar will provide an overview of various coping strategies and creative outlets that can enhance an individuals’ ability to adjust to a cancer diagnosis and successfully navigate the challenges and unique experiences associated with a cancer diagnosis.

Social workers and nurses in attendance will walk away with a better understanding of how to cope with a cancer diagnosis. This webinar will provide an overview of various coping strategies and creative outlets that can enhance an individuals’ ability to adjust to a cancer diagnosis and successfully navigate the challenges and unique experiences associated with a cancer diagnosis. This webinar will provide social workers, nurses, and other types of health care professionals with a foundation to help patients navigate various coping strategies and provide appropriate referrals. All attendees will have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions in real time via a chat-box.

Objectives:
• Attendees will learn about strategies to aid and promote an individuals’ ability to cope with cancer.
• Attendees will learn about community resources to support personal adjustment to cancer.
• Attendees will learn about the potential benefits of discussed coping strategies.
