Concussion Management: The Non-Sport Aspects is organized by HomeCEU and will be held during Dec 21, 2017 - Dec 31, 2019.
The target audience for this medical event is Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, and Certified Athletic Trainers. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 3 Contact Hours.
Course Description:
The increased media focus on concussion coupled with the medical findings of post concussed patients have lead to the NCAA's policy creating outlining the need for a return to learn process. Through lecture and instructional video, this course will provide the learner with resources, beyond the SCAT and basic sideline evaluation skills to evaluate the concussed individual and determine the need and plan for rehabilitation exercises. This course will offer resources for creating your multidisciplinary team and your own return to learn process.
Course Goal:
This course is intended to instruct the professional on the pathophysiology of concussion, explain the progression of concussion management- including current practices, recognizing the need and applying the appropriate rehabilitation in the post concussed individual, and assist in developing a return to learn process.
Conference Objectives are :
• Identify the basic pathophysiology of a concussion.
• Identify the current concussion evaluation process.
• List the importance of a return to learn progression following a concussion.
• List the key components and stakeholders of a return to learn progression.
• Identify the need and appropriate rehabilitation for the post concussed individual.
