OVERVIEW

Community Practice Connections™: Utilizing Topical Treatments in Presbyopia—How Will the Paradigm Shift With an Updated Armamentarium? is organized by Physicians' Education Resource, LLC (PER).

Release Date: May 31, 2022
Expiration Date: May 31, 2023

Activity Overview:
Presbyopia is a concern that affects all adults in their middle to later years, and many are dissatisfied with the conventional approaches to managing near-vision problems. Topical therapy for presbyopia is now available, with other options under investigation. In addition, advances in approaches such as intraocular lenses provide new opportunities for patient education.

This Community Practice Connections™ program provides an in-depth review of some of the key highlights from a symposium presented at SECO 2022, held in March. This unique and engaging multimedia activity is ideal for the community-based clinician and focuses on the practical aspects of managing patients with presbyopia, putting recent clinical trial data into clinical context. The program is designed for those who did not attend the live meeting and to help reinforce learnings for those who did.

Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
• Review the pathophysiology related to the loss of accommodation in presbyopia
• Describe the advantages and limitations of traditional treatment strategies for presbyopia
• Summarize mechanisms of action for recently approved and emerging presbyopia therapies
• Discuss safety and efficacy data for recently approved and investigational therapies for presbyopia

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
