Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States has experienced a significant increase in racially motivated attacks and xenophobia toward Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. This interactive panel session will review historical and recent events which have had significant impact on AAPI communities, particularly vulnerable elders, and the role of the senior care pharmacist in caring for AAPI patients. This session will also address the impact of current events on AAPI students and residents and the importance of being an ally to learners. Attendees will leave this session better prepared to support and advocate for elder patients, students, and residents who are part of AAPI communities.
